Syren's Voice Reader February 2013

Winter Recital Success!
Students of Syren's Voice gave a stellar performance at the Winter Recital on Sunday, December 16th. They worked hard on their music and pushed limits! Voice, Guitar, and Ukulele students shined their light for their friends and family in this private event.
Syren's Voice offers 3 recitals annually.
Winter and Spring recitals are private, while the Summer recital is open to the public. While performing in recitals is never mandatory, it is highly recommended as it is part of the music experience.
I am proud of my students for their hours of practice and drive to be the best that they can be!
Bravo!

Studio Changes.

The studio has been running rather full over the last 6 months. I have realized that it is a bit too much at times. I have scaled my student roster back to 23 from 30. This means I am currently working with a wait list.
If you are interested in studying with me please email me at jetbutterfly at gmail dot com.
Please know that there is a review process for admittance to the studio. Lessons are one on one and our personalities and goals must be similar. I want this to be a rewarding experience. I am humbled and honoured to be in demand; however, I reserve the right to grant acceptance to potential students after an interview. This is not based on level of talent. It is based on commitment to study and goals. I expect my students to rehearse, be prepared for every lesson, arrive on time, and be willing to try new techniques and song styles.
My studio policy, the fine print, is also in the process of changing as well as a small tuition increase. I have not raised my prices in 4 years and I believe that it is now time to do so.
So with changes come more success. With some extra time in my schedule, I can continue my studies in other forms of music. I truly want to be the best teacher that I can be. Thank you for your patience, understanding, and support.

My Tour Schedule
Touring is important to my profession. I am a full time teacher, but also a full time musician.
I am always pushing the bar to become a better performer. In 2012, I was so fortunate to tour in Ireland, Istanbul, and Irvine, CA. I am grateful to my students for being patient when I was away.
I learned and experienced so much while traveling in the "real life" performing world. I consider myself very fortunate to be on this path and hope that it may inspire some of my students to never doubt their talents and dreams.
In the summer of 2013, I hope to put together a workshop that will help
"Get this Show On the Road"! The workshop will deal with touring, performing, and generating a fan base. Details will be announced soon.

What's next? Ireland 2013! I have been invited back. Another opportunity in Scotland! is also forming. In the essence of budget, I will likely form this tour in November. I will, as always, make it as convenient for school schedules as possible.

Warm Up CD soon to be for sale!

My warm up CD is in the process of being finished. It will be for sale come March. I am very excited about this release! Many students have asked for this for some time. I am happy with the sound of it so far! The price will be $10. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing one.

Singers Ukulele Lessons are now being offered. After much demand, I am happy to offer these lessons to young and old! Call to schedule a time or add it to your current lesson.

Record Your Progress!
Make a CD for loved ones!
Winter is the perfect time to record a CD for your family or loved one! Recording possibilities are open to currently enrolled students at a special price. Recording periodically helps the student fine tune problem areas and helps define performance goals. It is a great tool and so much fun! Makes the perfect gift!
